2026 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid: MPG, Trims, Power & Availability
The redesigned second-generation Palisade introduces a first for Hyundai’s flagship three-row SUV: a hybrid powertrain. Below you’ll find its EPA-estimated fuel economy and driving range, the full trim lineup and pricing, powertrain specifications, and how to see one at Ontario Hyundai.
Palisade Hybrid EPA-Estimated MPG and Driving Range
EPA-estimated fuel economy is the headline improvement over the V6, and it varies by trim and drivetrain. The front-wheel-drive Blue SEL and Blue SEL Premium lead the lineup; paired with the 18.2-gallon tank, that efficiency yields a Hyundai-estimated driving range of up to 619 miles. Larger wheels on the Limited and Calligraphy trim EPA-estimated efficiency slightly, and choosing HTRAC all-wheel drive trades a few EPA-estimated miles per gallon for added traction. Even so, every configuration far outpaces the gas V6 — the FWD Blue trims improve EPA-estimated combined economy by roughly 60%. Full figures are below.
| Configuration | EPA-Est. City | EPA-Est. Highway | EPA-Est. Combined | Est. Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blue SEL / Blue SEL Premium (FWD) | 33 | 35 | 34 | up to 619 mi |
| Limited / Calligraphy (FWD) | 31 | 32 | 31 | Not published |
| Any trim (HTRAC AWD) | 29 | 30 | 29 | ≈528 mi (calculated) |
| Gas V6 (FWD, for reference) | 19 | 25 | 21 | Not published |
Range figures: Hyundai publishes an estimated driving range of up to 619 miles for the Palisade Hybrid Blue SEL Premium FWD, based on a full tank of fuel. The AWD figure is calculated from the EPA-estimated 29 mpg combined rating and the 18.2-gallon tank capacity; Hyundai does not publish an AWD range figure. Palisade Hybrid Power and Performance
The 2026 Palisade Hybrid replaces the V6 with a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four paired with two electric motors integrated into a six-speed automatic transmission. The result is a total system output of 329 horsepower — 42 more than the standard V6 — with noticeably stronger low-end response. Hyundai does not publish a 0–60 mph figure for the Palisade Hybrid. In instrumented testing, Edmunds recorded the AWD Hybrid Calligraphy at roughly 1.4 seconds quicker than the V6 Calligraphy it tested at 8.8 seconds.
| Powertrain Spec | 2026 Palisade Hybrid |
|---|---|
| Engine | 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 + 2 electric motors |
| System output | 329 hp / 339 lb-ft |
| Transmission | 6-speed automatic |
| Drivetrain | FWD standard; HTRAC AWD available (+$2,000 MSRP) |
| Max towing | 4,000 lbs (properly equipped with trailer brakes) |

Warranty and Long-Term Value
For families across Ontario, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Corona, and Eastvale, the hybrid’s efficiency pays off on daily commutes, running on electric power at low speeds and in stop-and-go traffic. Hyundai’s warranty adds long-term confidence: the powertrain — including the hybrid battery and electric motors — is covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles, and the new vehicle limited warranty runs 5 years or 60,000 miles.
| Coverage | Term |
|---|---|
| New Vehicle Limited Warranty | 5 years / 60,000 miles |
| Powertrain Limited Warranty | 10 years / 100,000 miles |
| Hybrid battery & components | 10 years / 100,000 miles |

Common Questions About the 2026 Palisade Hybrid
Does the 2026 Palisade Hybrid need to be plugged in?
No. It is a traditional hybrid, not a plug-in (PHEV). The lithium-ion battery recharges automatically through regenerative braking and the gas engine. You never plug it in or install home charging equipment.
How much can the Palisade Hybrid tow versus the V6?
The hybrid is rated to tow up to 4,000 pounds with trailer brakes; the gas V6 is rated up to 5,000 pounds. Instant electric torque makes pulling away from a stop smooth.
Does the hybrid battery reduce interior space?
Cargo space is identical to the gas model — 19.1 cubic feet behind the third row — because the battery is packaged under the floor.
Are there special maintenance requirements for the hybrid?
The hybrid follows the same standard service intervals as the gas model for routine items like oil changes and cabin air filters. Because regenerative braking handles much of the deceleration, brake pads often last longer than on gas-only vehicles.
