Pricing

Every configuration carries a higher MSRP than its 2026 equivalent. The smallest increase lands on Limited, the largest on SEL.

Roof side rails are now standard on SEL and above, where previously they were limited to XRT and Limited.

The SE Standard Range pairs a 63 kWh battery with a single rear motor making 168 horsepower. The SE swaps in the 84 kWh battery and 225 horsepower, taking EPA-estimated range to 318 miles — the longest in the lineup. The SEL adds comfort and convenience equipment on the same powertrain. The XRT is the off-road-styled configuration and the only one rated to tow. The Limited tops the range with the most standard technology.

Every all-wheel-drive configuration uses a dual-motor setup producing a combined 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque. Every rear-wheel-drive long-range configuration produces 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft. All configurations use a single-speed transmission.

EPA-Estimated Range and Efficiency

Battery size, drivetrain, and wheel choice all move the range figure. Rear-wheel drive is consistently the efficiency leader.

Charging: Two Paths, Two Different Speeds

Most IONIQ 5 coverage gets this wrong, and it matters on road trips.

DC Fast Charging

Every 2027 IONIQ 5 has a factory-installed NACS port, so it plugs directly into Tesla Supercharger stalls with no adapter. That is the convenient path, but it is not the quickest one. Supercharger stalls run at 400 volts, which caps the IONIQ 5 at 150 kW.

The car’s own architecture is 800 volts. Reaching its full speed means using a CCS adapter at an 800-volt station rated above 250 kW. Hyundai’s published charging specifications put the three scenarios this far apart:

The practical takeaway: Supercharger access is easier to find, an 800-volt CCS station is faster, and a 50 kW charger is neither. Most owners will use the first two.

Home Charging

Interior Space, Cargo, and Towing

Every configuration seats five and shares the same cargo dimensions: 26.3 cubic feet behind the rear seats, expanding to 58.5 cubic feet with the rear seatbacks folded.

The IONIQ 5 rides on Hyundai’s dedicated E-GMP electric platform. That gives it a 118.1-inch wheelbase and a flat floor with no transmission tunnel, so the center rear passenger gets real foot space. Rear legroom measures 39.4 inches across every configuration. Front headroom is 39.8 inches on SE, SEL, and XRT and 39.1 inches on Limited, where the panoramic roof takes overhead room; rear headroom is 38.7 and 37.5 inches respectively.

Towing is limited to one configuration. The XRT all-wheel drive, equipped with the available factory tow hitch, is rated at 2,700 pounds. No other IONIQ 5 configuration carries a tow rating.

Technology

Every 2027 IONIQ 5 pairs a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch center touchscreen, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the lineup. USB-C outlets number three in the first row and two in the second.

Bluelink+ connected services are included and split into two packages. The Basic package covers safety and car care. The Advanced package handles remote start, remote climate, remote lock and unlock, and vehicle location, reachable by app, web, or voice assistant.

Safety

Every 2027 IONIQ 5 carries eight airbags: two front, two front side, two side curtain, and two rear side.
